Gareth Southgate is a former English footballer who played as a centre-back. He played for a number of clubs, including Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Middlesbrough, before retiring in 2006.
After retiring from playing, Southgate went into management. He has managed a number of clubs, including Middlesbrough, England U21s, and the England national team. He is currently the manager of the England national team.
Southgate has a number of achievements to his name. He won the League Cup with Aston Villa in 1996 and was part of the England team that reached the semi-finals of the 1996 European Championship. He was also named PFA Young Player of the Year in 1994.
